Kagurazaka Kouseki is a reservation-only urban hideawa which offers an exquisite dining experience.
The interior decoration mainly features “stone.” These stone-based materials are illuminated to create a warm yet mystical atmosphere.
The owner, Chef Shinji Nakamura, trained for 13 years at the Four Seasons Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo and is a culinary professional with expertise not only in Japanese cuisine, but also in teppanyaki and charcoal grilling.
The line of view from the counter is very flat, allowing guests to watch Chef Nakamura’s live cooking with excellent visibility. The four-person table seating is also close to the counter so guests seated there are also able to engage in plenty of conversation with the host and staff.
The table can be removed in the case of a private booking (for five people) and a stage can be created in its place, to where Kagurazaka geisha’s can be booked in order to create a plan that allows you to enjoy Japanese food culture to its fullest.
The restaurant honors the dedication and passion of various professions. Fishermen and farmers who provide the ingredients, brewers who brew the excellent sake, ceramists and lacquerware artisans who create the distinctive tableware, and architects who designed the restaurant’s interior. You can feel their combined efforts within the restaurant and in turn, the gratitude that the chef has for their work.
Many of the regular patrons at Kagurazaka Kouseki are also well-known chefs, and Chef Nakamura’s dedication to his craft and the quality of his dishes are highly acclaimed within the industry.
Kagurazaka Kouseki is one of those restaurants where reservations are likely to become increasingly difficult to secure in the future.
