After operating in Kobe for 12 years and being featured in the Michelin Guide Hyogo 2016 Special Edition, this renowned duck cuisine restaurant has now relocated to Kyoto.
Currently featured in the 2024 Michelin Guide, Kyoto Kamoryori Tabuchi, located near Nijo Castle, has further expanded its reputation. There are only a few restaurants specializing in duck cuisine, and the chance to enjoy authentic duck dishes in a 100-year-old Kyoto townhouse is a treat for both locals and travelers alike.
Kyoto Kamoryori Tabuchi uses the rare and premium Kawachi duck (Kawachigamo), which is so fresh and safe that it can even be eaten raw. The duck meat is free from the typical gamey odor and has a sweet, delicate flavor, making it a favorite among duck enthusiasts. The restaurant offers various course meals featuring dishes like duck hot pot, charcoal-grilled duck, and 100% buckwheat soba, giving guests the chance to savor duck prepared in multiple styles.
On Fridays during lunch, guests can make a special reservation for duck ramen, a unique offering.
Head Chef Tabuchi, an expert in duck cuisine, creates refined and delicate dishes, while the English-speaking hostess ensures warm and welcoming hospitality.
Many guests who try the duck ramen are inspired to explore the restaurant’s other offerings, as the establishment masterfully utilizes every part of the duck, expanding the possibilities of duck-focused cuisine.
