Led by Chef Tetsuya Saotome, revered as the “God of Tempura,” this iconic restaurant represents the pinnacle of Edomae tempura. Even at over 80 years of age, Chef Saotome continues to stand in the kitchen every day, driven by a relentless desire to surpass his own work and refine his craft further.

Tempura Mikawa Keyakizaka (Roppongi)

Operated by Chef Saotome’s son, this restaurant faithfully inherits the techniques and sensibilities of Mikawa Zezankyo. Its concept draws inspiration from the elegant colors and refined aesthetics of Japan’s Azuchi–Momoyama period, reinterpreted as a contemporary cultural space where tradition meets modern expression.

Tempura Arata Mikawa (Toranomon / Shimbashi)

Opened by Chef Hisao Ogawa, a devoted disciple whose talent and sensibility were recognized at Mikawa Zezankyo. Bestowed directly by Chef Saotome, the name “Arata”—meaning new—symbolizes a fresh chapter.
