Leone

I visited Leone for dinner, located in Kitashinchi, just south of Osaka Station (Umeda Station).

Chef Yoshikawa, known as the "Magician of Spices," creates a unique taste experience by combining various cooking techniques and ingredients while keeping an Italian base.
His belief "flavor knows no boundaries" is reflected in his dishes and they invite you into a world of unexpected flavors. Be sure to try them yourself to discover a world that exceeds your imagination.

Leone is a sophisticated grown-up’s hideaway which is located on the third floor of the Permally Inn Dojima Bdlg, in the Kitashinchi area, just south of Osaka Station (Umeda Station).

A dynamic culinary show can be enjoyed from the counter seats, accompanied by the style of dishes being handed directly from the chef to the dining guest which adds another sense of excitement.

Additionally, the face-to-face setting allows you to enjoy a more personal dining experience. It is a luxurious space where sophistication and comfort harmonize together.

This course meal consisted of 12 dishes. I would like to introduce a few of them.

First, we had a warming soup made from fresh mozzarella cheese,  tomatoes from Shiga Prefecture and chicken consommé which was all carefully simmered together. It warmed both the heart and body.

Next was a dish which was a brand new experience to me.

The savory umami and silky texture of kohada (gizzard shad) harmonized perfectly with the rich flavors and crunchiness of the Indian-style cookie. This delightful harmony that filled my mouth also filled me with amazement.

The toro (fatty tuna) tacos, complemented by the creamy flavor of avocado sauce was purely addictive after just one bite.

These are so delicious you’ll crave for seconds.

The combination of Kobe beef prosciutto and Mont Blanc created an immaculate balance of savory and sweet flavors.

It’s highly recommended to pair the food with beverages which enhance their flavors in order fully savor each dish.

Chef Yoshida, with his extensive experience, can suggest the perfect wines or sake based on your mood and preferences, so don’t hesitate to ask him for advice.

The grand finale of sweetness created by the combination of sweet potato, caviar, and vanilla sauce made for a luxurious dessert and a perfect ending to the meal.

Chef Yoshida says “We don’t limit ourselves to traditional Italian cuisine; in fact, we strive for a unique cooking style which goes beyond the framework of Italian cuisine. We also don’t just focus on the dishes, but ensure that the tableware and plateware adds to the character of our cuisine.

Each dish incorporates a twist or two in order to provide a sense of surprise and excitement throughout your dining experience. We invite you to visit and discover the creativity and flavors we have to offer.”
