Originally opening in a back street of Roppongi in 2003 as small Japanese restaurant, Nihonryori RyuGin rose to fame receiving the prestigious honor of being listed in the Michelin Guide as 3-Stars since 2012, and continuously receiving distinguished accolades of being selected in the top 10 as one of “Asia’s Best Restaurants” and one of the “World’s Best Restaurants” year after year.
Owner and chef Seiji Yamamoto is a culinary genius and luminary, ranked in the Top 10 in the World’s Top 100 chefs. After more than 15 years in Roppongi, in 2018 chef Yamamoto realized his ideal location for the main restaurant of Ryugin, relocating to an area three times the size of the original; on the 7th floor of luxury development “Tokyo Midtown Hibiya”.
Chef Seiji Yamamoto’s omakase showcases the magnificence of Japanese ingredients at the peak of each season, and shares the spirit of “Wa” (the Japanese concept of harmony). Using a rich abundance of Japanese produce, the temperature, aromas and umami of each dish are carefully treasured to create an environment where people can come together with a mutual love of food to enjoy truly delicious cuisine.
